edgar allen poe

Just a progress shot of a piece the client and myself are building up.
Im really enjoying this one, especially when it comes to illustrating the imagery and the feel of it.
The style is very much illustrated with lots of descritive lines to show off form.
Theres still more to come with adding in pieces to the sleeve so updates futhur on for sure.

medusa update 2

Another session on the medusa piece today having five sits in total so far.
Quite impressed by my client with the way he handled this whole ordeal!
Its still very fresh so theres some flash glare and some colors to settle in so definately more photo updates coming once fully healed.

The whole front will basically be filled with leaves flowers and bats.
The pieces blurred at the top where done by someone else.

A new piece I started yesterday. Medusa and her her cut off with plenty of snake action!

Zombies pieces are a favourite of mine. You can get so much character into them with facial expressions and gore when drawing and designing them. I feel free when designing these pieces.

The photo was taken in different lighting with no flash as opposed to the photo below and I captured a slight angle to give distortion a little to the viewer.
There was no photoshop editing on the actual tattoo photo except for the background.
Bring on the zombie pieces people....

Zombie grrrl

This was completed in one session, around five and a half hours. I noticed the scale of the tattoo was quite large when putting the tattoo stencil on.The Hand in the piece was life size scale and the head similar as well. This guys leg was pretty long too, so scale had to be big as we are covering the whole leg, ankle to knee eventually. The face was modelled by Lucy and I used lighting effects with actual lights when taking ref photos for the piece. I futhur developed the photo in photoshop to get some crazy colors happening. It felt good to knock out a large piece in one sit. Hopefully get some healed shots.

bird rose key

A bird thats part of a sleeve....... Oh and a times

Thursday, July 7, 2011

vulturine guineafowl.

First stage of a full sleeve.
Has a few small areas to tighten over the course of the sleeve.
On the topic matter....this interesting bird has beautiful electric blue feathers in its body and is quite vulture looking.
Interstingly enough the color in the photo was not enhanced at all with photoshop..... Just good lighting and a decent slr camera ! Will update with healed shots over time also.

Siren sleeve tattoo 1

This is part of the sleeve that will feature a siren girl as the main focus along with nautical instruments and other sea influenced objects....maybe a hand reaching from the water drowning to the sound of the harp playing.....
